Process for adding Daily Sales to Xero
1. Login into Xero
2. From the Dashboard under the right "Invoices owed to you" click "New Sales Invoice"
3. Take the Daily Sales Report - first check that the TOTAL EFT matches up with Eftpos on the front sheet of the LAST DAILY Z REPORT
4. In Xero under To: enter "POS Sales" Date enter the date on the settlement receipt.
5. Tab across to Reference and paste: POS Sales
6. Tab down to Description and paste: POS Sales
7. Enter 1 as Quantity and in Unit Price enter the total from the Daily Z report for SALES+GST e.g. 3810.17 - select Account as Sales
8. Tab down to Description and again paste: POS Sales
9. Enter 1 as Quantity and in Unit Price enter the total from the Daily Z report for SALES+GST as a negative value e.g. -3810.17 - select Account as Takings Clearing Account
10. Click the green button "Approve & add another"
11. Repeat process for any additional Days
If there is a day where there were no sales entered still create an invoice for this day as record that this has not been accidentally missed.
You can check if each day is entered by clicking Invoices in the top left corner "Sales > Invoices" and going to the Paid Tab - from here you can look at the Date entry to see if an entry has been mad for an individual day.
At the end of the month do a check that all invoices have been entered correctly.
Check Within Xero - that all days for the month have been entered
