Automations can provide a way for newsletter subscribers to automatically receive an email.
Our main automation is our Welcome Email Series - General Newsletter Subscriber, we also have automations for a win-back series (win past customers back), best customer series (thanking good customers) and first purchase series.
As well as this automations can be created for things such as the Voucher Offer where you want a specific offer to go to customers.
1. To create a new automation go to Automation in Mailchimp
2. If it is to be part of an existing automation click on that series, otherwise click Add Automation
3. Choose the automation type - usually it will be Custom Event Workflow - click Add Automation
4. Name the automation as something relevant to the list e.g. Voucher Offer Facebook and select the relevant list this automation will be sent to. Click Next.
5. Click Edit Trigger and select the relevant time trigger e.g. immediately, within x hours, x days etc. Click Update Trigger..
If the trigger is on email signup then the trigger should be New Signup: Immediately after subscribers join or are imported to your list.
6. Click Design Email
7. Name your Email so that it is easy to understand what it is for.
8. Add in the Email Subject.
9. From name should say Beer Cartel.
10. From email address should be [email protected]
11. Click Next
12. In Select a Template choose Saved Templates - normally the Beer Cartel 1 Column template will be used. Click Next.
13. Enter content to the email as required. Click Save & Continue.
14. If there was a specific segment of people that you wanted the email to go to you can click Edit Segment.
15. If everything is good click Next and send a test email to check everything is correct.
16. If it needs to be updated then change the design of the email as required.
17. If everything is all good click Start Workflow.
