Each week a video is done about the new beers that have arrived in store and that are available for purchase online. This video is aimed at being approximately 1 minute 30 seconds in length.
This video is created on Thursdays and is used as part of the weekly social media, blog and social media updates. It is recommended that this video be created earlier on in the day (i.e. before lunch) so as to allow enough time for editing and putting out to the various marketing platforms.
The steps to create this video are as follows:
FIRST STEP: GET THE LATEST NEW STOCK
1. Visit the "In Store & Growlers" page on our website
2. Get a bottle of each of the new beers that have arrived (from the previous Friday to that Wednesday). Make sure you are only including beers that have been added to the website.
3. Copy and paste the new beers into a word document, this will assist you in writing the script.
CREATE THE SCRIPT / PREPARING
Trying to ad-lib a video is a bit like ad-libbing a best man speech at a wedding, very few people can do it and the majority of those that attempt it do a crap job. This step assists in structuring the content of the video and preparing you to be in front of the camera.
1. Use one of the following introductions
SCRIPT INTRO (GENERIC)
Hey guys/craft beer lovers, [INSERT NAME] from Beer Cartel here with another weekly update video on the latest and greatest beers to grace our shelves. This week we have new beers from [INSERT BREWERY NAMES].
Hey beer lovers, I'm [INSERT NAME] from Beer Cartel and welcome to another weekly store update where we tell you about the latest and greatest beers to grace our shelves. This week we have new beers from [INSERT BREWERY NAME].
Whats up craft beer lovers! I'm [INSERT NAME] from Beer Cartel here with another weekly update video on the latest and greatest beers to grace our shelves. This week we have new beers from [INSERT BREWERY NAMES].
2. Create the body of the script
SCRIPT BODY (CUSTOMISE & CONSIDER DIFFERENT CAMERA ANGLES / SHOTS THAT MIGHT BE USED)
In this section you can take a couple different angles:
1. If you have only a few new beers you can talk about each of them more specifically.
2. If you have a heap of new beers talk specifically about one or two breweries and give a bit of insight / interesting information about those breweries.
3. CLOSING (GENERIC)
As always beers are available in store and online at Beer Cartel dot com dot au
Happy drinking!

FOURTH STEP: POST TO YOUTUBE
Once you have watched the video post it to You Tube. NB: YouTube uses 16:9 aspect ratio players. If you are uploading a non-16:9 file, it will be processed and displayed correctly as well, with pillar boxes (black bars on the left and right) or letter boxes (black bars at the top and bottom) provided by the player.
To post a weekly Video to You Tube follow these steps:
1. Log into You Tube
2. Make sure you are in the Beer Cartel account and click Upload
3. Either drag and drop the file or upload it to Youtube
4. While it is uploading (this will take several minutes depending on the size of the video) complete the following fields:
a. Title: This needs to be to be keyword rich, i.e. based on what people are likely to search for in YouTube. This is a very important part of the video as an obscure or irrelevant title will mean the video will not show up in searches. Weekly videos commence with the Episode Number, i.e. EP:## and then the relevant beers that have been reviewed in the video. See previous videos to get examples.
b. Add a description to the video of 200 - 300 words per video. Ensure that this uses the keywords and products that are being featured in the video. This will assist the video ranking in Google for search terms around the keyword.
c. Add timings in the description. This allows viewers to skip straight to those sections in the video. Each time a new beer or topic is mentioned in the post this is when a time spot should be noted. This is simply entered as the example below, YouTube then automatically links this to the time in the video.
01:50 Stone & Wood Stone Beer
06:00 Epic IPA's ( Eric The Red IPA & Stone Hammer IPA)
07:19 IPA Four The Better (Epic / Liberty / Wired / Hop Federation Collab)
