The goal is to maximise sales and sellout of Advent calendars at the very start of December, or be left with 50 or so assembled Advent Calendars.
This can be hard to do, so if it is looking like excess stock of completed Advent Calendars is likely to be remain on hand post 1st December here are some options to shift excess stock.
Sell to Porters Stores / Other Retailers: this would need to be actioned before the last week of November, say around 20th November.
Discount Advent Packs: After the 10th of December the packs could be discounted and sold both online and in store.
Re-badged Mix 25 Pack: "Rebadge" the packs as mix cases of 25 and sell within the new year. This would require unboxing and reboxing the stock.
Use in Mix Packs: If excess stock of the beers (not having been kitting into the Advent Boxes) some of these can be used in regular mix 6/12/24 packs. Some beers will have quite long dates on them, so while it may effect cashflow overtime these beers can be shifted.
Warehouse Pallet Sale: if a lot of stock is unused, there is option of creating a weekend pallet sale in the warehouse. Having pallets of stock at discounted prices (per case), i.e. beer cost price + associated costs for (e.g. moving from 3PL to Beer Cartel etc.) could be a good way to shift stock quickly. It could be done in one "event" or as multiple events over 3-4 weeks, with different beers being placed on the pallet sale each week.
