In 2015 Facebook introduced Facebook Live videos as a way to increase their video content and become more of a broadcaster social media platform.
Videos are streamed LIVE as they are recorded and get very good cut through to Facebook fan's news feeds as Facebook give's LIVE content more prominence and exposure.

Some things to take note of:
- There is only 1 take so best to ensure you have thought out (and ideally written ideas out) for the content of the video.
- Currently using a mobile phone using the mobile data appears to be the best option currently for streaming a LIVE video
- The microphone that is used to record BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone for Video Camera Camcorder Audio Recorder LF480
Video Checklist - check this before going LIVE.
The purpose behind this checklist is to ensure everything is ready to go prior to recording a video.
- Do we have sufficient stock of the product?
- Is the product online and does the product have sufficient stock online?
- Is the product description correct i.e. is it up to date if seasonal?
- If there are limits on the product are these noted on the website?
- Send via email all product URL’s to be used/mentioned during the recording to the person who will be watching the video when it is live (on their computer)
- If using mobile is there sufficient battery life?
- Has the mobile being switched to Mobile Data (or Wifi if necessary)?
- What is the name of the video being recorded?
- Have all background apps on the phone been closed?
- Is the microphone plugged in?
- Is the microphone set to the correct setting (camera vs mobile phone)
- Drink of water for presenters
- Air con / heater on/off
- Video box lights on
For person watching the LIVE video:
- As the broadcast is delayed listen using headphone/earphone. The reason being is if in close proximity to where the filming is taking place it can make it difficult for the presenter as they can hear the delayed broadcast from your PC/phone.
- Are you on the Beer Cartel Facebook business page?
- Do you have all the website links ready to put into the feed?
Going LIVE
Once you are ready to go Live simply follow these steps:
1. Go to the Facebook Pages App on your phone
2. Click the Live button.
3. Enter a title for your video
4. Decide if you will be using the "selfie" camera on the front of the phone or the back camera on the back of the phone. The back camera is only really used if you have someone that will be doing the filming. If you are using a selfie stick or doing the filming yourself use the front "selfie" camera.
NOTE 1: if using an iPhone front selfie camera you will need to "mirror" or "flip" the image as when it broadcasts and records using the front camera iPhones reverse the image. As a result any text on beer bottles / signs etc will be backwards. To ensure that the image is the correct way around (when using the selfie camera) click the wand icon in the top corner before going LIVE and select the screw and spanner icon. Then select "horizontal flip". This will ensure the image is not backwards.
NOTE 2: if you have used the "horizontal flip" setting before going live and then midway through your video decide to switch to the back camera of the iPhone you will also need to reverse/remove the "horizontal flip" otherwise images then shown using the back camera will be backwards.
5. Exit out of the settings / wand icon if you have used it.
6. Click the Go Live button
7. Count down begins.
8. Your LIVE!
Once a LIVE video is taken, it will then need to be:
2. Downloaded and saved from Facebook
3. Uploaded to YouTube and also see page on how to create correct annotations for YouTube videos
4. A blog post created and also see page on how to embed responsively
