Each month (and quarterly for Expert packs) beer club packs are picked and packed. This picking and packing requires quite a lot of packs to be made up, sometimes over several shifts / days. To ensure accuracy in completing the packing of beer club packs the attached template must be completed.
Download this file and save it into the relevant beer club month that you are picking and packing for (Drop Box > Beer Cartel > Beer Club > Year > Month) (NOTE: if you have created the beer club monthly folders from the "Monthly Generic Folders" this file is already in there)
Entering Data Into the Template
Once saved follow these steps to complete the templates:
1. Enter in the number of each pack to be made up based on the numbers determine here.
2. Enter in each of the beers that are to be used 1, 2, 3, 4. Consider which order they will be added to the box based on the bottle tops, ensuring that not 2 same bottle tops are near each other to avoid confusion when packing/checking off (e.g. 2 bottles with plain black caps)
3. Save the document and print. Each of the sheets (multiple pages) and staple into different "documents" 1 for each pack type.
4. Place each stapled "document" onto a separate clipboard in the warehouse.
5. Picking stock onto pallets is not ready to be done.
Picking Stock Onto Pallets
Using the templates created in the steps above 1 pallet will be created for each of the beer club pack types. Monthly packs are done in one go, quarterly pack pallet beers are added to the pallet as all 16 beers arrive into the warehouse closer to the date of dispatch (20th of each quarter).
Follow these steps to palletise.
1. Get down from pallet racking the 4 pallets of beers that will be used for the monthly packs.
2. Considering in which way the pallets will be packed (consider box format and insertion order into packs as mentioned above) place the 4 pallets in one of two locations.
i. If there are two staff on then the forecourt of the warehouse drive can be used (just outside the door)
ii. if only one staff member place the pallets inside the warehouse as per this picture. (this is done inside as we do not want pallets of beers left unattended in the drive when customers may visit the shop, with two staff in (i) it is possible to have one focus on the store while the other packs the pallets)
Ensure there is a bit of room between pallets so that if required you can walk between the pallets.
3. Pack each different monthly a pallet as per the templates, ensuring that each pallet is checked off by a different staff member once picked.
4. Once completed wrap each pallet, place the template within the plastic wrap and stick the last 2 pages of each print document to the outside of the pallet.
5. Place 2 pallets up onto the pallet racking, leaving 1 ready to be used to pack the first lot of beer club packs.
