How to download a video from Facebook

There may be a need / want to download a video that is on Facebook so that it can be used in other online social media mediums, e.g. Facebook Live Videos are broadcast live directly to the news feed and therefore is not a video file that is saved on a hard drive or drop box somewhere.

However, there is a way to download these videos using one of the following techniques.

Play & Save As

1. Find the video in the news feed.

2. Change the web address by replacing the "www" to "m" and hit enter

3. Once the page reloads start to play the video

4. Right click with the mouse and select Save As

5. Save the video in your desired location on PC/ Dropbox and change the file name to be descriptive of the content of the video.

6. Process complete, the video can be used for other purposes, e.g. uploading to YouTube.

URL Download - cannot be used for private videos e.g. from Beer Cartel Facebook page

1. Find the video in the news feed.

2. Right click on the video and select "Show video URL"

3. Copy the link

4. Go to http://www.downloadvideosfrom.com/ and paste the URL

5. Click Download as MP4

6. File will be ripped and can then be downloaded and saved to the appropriate place on the PC/Dropbox
