Stock Placement, Tickets & Core Range Beers
To ensure all stock is placed on store shelves and rotated correctly please ensure the following:
1. If a beer is in the fridge do not place it on the store shelves as it will not sell from the store shelves and end up coming onto code.
2. If a core range beer is out of stock on shelves do not remove the ticket. It is core range so will be restocked as soon as possible. Removing the label means that it will be forgotten about once it comes back in stock and end up having stock sitting in the warehouse not being sold.
3. When removing a beer from fridges and replacing it with another beer (e.g. to offer variety to customers or because the replacement beer is overstocked and there is a need to sell it more quickly etc) ensure that the beer being removed is available on the store shelves. If not then place the ticket you are removing from the fridge onto a space on the store shelves.
4. When removing a ticket from either the fridges or store shelves the following must be done:
b) determine if it is a core range beer - if unsure ask another staff member or manager. If it is core range refer to point 3 above.
a) for beers that are not core range, check stock in RSA and confirm that there is no more stock of this beer available. If stock exists search for it in the warehouse and place it on shelves. Only tickets that are for non core range beers WITH zero stock should be removed. NOTE: for seasonal / limited releases ensure that a second allocation/order is not on its way.
c) if ticket is being removed clearly write your first name on it and then place it on the spike in store.
Process for Restocking Shelves
The below is a set of guidelines to ensure we can be most effective and efficient when filling shelves in store.
1. Don’t put stock on shelves until labels are on shelves
2. Don’t face up stock unless on the last bottle. This way we can ensure we know clearly when a product is out of stock.
3. Always ensure the bottles on the shelves and the fridge are facing forward (we would rather you fill the shelves slower than be unable to see what the beer is.
4. When filling always look to rotate stock around so that the freshest stock is at the back.
5. Fill the shelves on a weekly basis in the following order:
a. Monday – UK / Wine / Specials Shelf
b. Tuesday – Australian Shelf
c. Wednesday – New Zealand Shelf
d. Thursday – USA Shelves
e. Friday – Belgium, Glassware & Growler Shelves
Once the specific shelf has been filled for the day then look to fill any major holes where stock is missing, or there is only just one or two bottles on the shelf.
For Saturday & Sunday look to fill any major gaps in the shelves.
6. All products on special should be placed on the specials shelf at the front of the store.
7. When the product on special is no longer in stock then take the special ticket and place on the spike. We will then know to take this out of RSA and the website.
8. All products without a barcode should have their code applied via pricing gun.
9. For all deliveries received, check if restock items are already in the store - if they are not, they should be put on the new beer shelf in the warehouse to find a space for the item in store.
Shelf Filling Template
Print the attached document and attach to a clipboard.
Enter the brewery name once and then enter the products under that brewery that needs to be re-stocked.
Process should focus on filling a different section each day plus major holes.
