For Beer Cartel we use a more powerful search function than the native search provided by BigCommerce. This is achieved through SearchSpring.

To run a manual indexing on SearchSpring platform.

Because we use SearchSpring it means that when you toggle a product from in stock to out of stock it does not automatically appear on the website - a manual indexing needs to be run in SearchSpring.

1. Update product in BigCommerce.

2. Login to SearchSpring https://manage.searchspring.net/ 

3. On the homepage click the Manually Update Index button - listed in the Indexing section of dashboard. It will take around 3-4 minutes for the indexing to run.

The products should now appear on the website.

Note: An automatic indexing is run daily at 5am.

To change the sort order of a category e.g. gifts

1. From the Dashboard in Searchspring click Categories

2. In the search bar on the page type in the words of the category page

3. Click Edit Campaign

4. You can change the order by simply dragging products or applying boosting rules.

5. Once changes have been made click Save button - located in top right hand side.

6. Changes should now be reflected on category page.

To change what search facets are shown

1. In the merchandising category create above click on campaign

2. On right hand side click on facets and click 'use custom facet order'

3. From here you can choose what filter categories are shown and the order of those categories.

To add Badges to products:

1. In Bigcommerce click on the individual product

2. Click on Custom Fields

3. Add Field

For Occasion Facet:

Field Name: Occasion

Field Value: Valentine's Day, Birthday Etc

For Pre Order Badge:

Field Name: Product Badges

Field Value: Pre-Order

For Sale Badge:

Field Name: Sale Badge

Field Value: Sale

Note: sales badge will also show if there is a Retail Price / Default Price e.g. Retail Price $10 / Default Price $5.
