0:01 This is a video on how to make different kind of variations of packs. So Additional Units of Measure. So this is where when we get a beer in, we wanna sell it in, whether that's 4 packs, 6 packs, case of 16, case of 24, and so on.
0:15 So in Dear, that's called an additional unit of measure. So what that means is that we can sell it by a, a product that's 4, and it will deduct 4 from the Master product.
0:26 So let's just go through and have a look at one now. So for example, let's look at Akasha Freshwater. So as in the inventory overview, we talked about how you've got this All Product view and the Combined view.
0:42 So this is where if we go to the All Products view, you can see the four and then we can see the Combined view only pulls up the one.
0:49 So what that's actually showing us is the Master product. And then these three others are the additional units of measures.
0:55 So when we open up this main page, what that does is opens it up and you wanna come down here to Additional Units of Measure.
1:02 So this shows you here what these additional units of measure are. So you can see here that we've created a 4 pack, case of 24, and the single, which is as we would for our for our website.
1:15 So for BigCommerce, you can see the SKU number here, the name and then how much is composed of it, and then the retail price.
1:23 So let's just do one as an example. So say Akasha Freshwater now was to be in 6 packs. So what we wanna do is come into here.
1:30 If it's already in the system, we can select existing (by searching for the SKU - if a 6 pack already existed it would appear in the dropdown that appears when you click 'Select an existing product'). But normally we just create a new product.
1:35 The Unit of Measure - now this is not how many is composed of it, but this is the name of the measure. So for example, this is 6 pack but this could be kilos, it could be, it could be anything.
1:45 This is just the name of it, but we name them as kind of how many per pack. So this is 6 pack.
1:50 This will then auto generate the SKU, but we use obviously the standardized method. So for this, for a 6 pack, it's gonna be underscore 6PK (e.g if Master SKU is 12345-BUF, the 6 pack SKU needs to be 12345_6PK).
1:59 And then this will auto populate the name. So we can just hit save. You can see here that this has now created a 6 pack.
2:07 And now this is where, here we wanna tell it how many is it composed of. So this here is where we wanna put 6 in because this product is made up of six of the master product.
2:16 And then we can add in a price. So hypothetically, let's put 29 99. Now one thing to note is that when you create that new product, it is creating a full new product and it will default all this details on this page based upon what's here.
2:31 So if something's wrong here, it will pull these details across into the new product. But now if we go back and we now look at that same view again.
2:43 So if we go All Products and we go Akasha Freshwater, we can see that there's this 6 pack here. So we can see that it's now in this list.
2:54 And if we go to the Combined view, it will be now 4 additional units. So if we were to open up this one here, we can see here that in its Bill of Materials, that it's got the Akasha Freshwater Pale and is composed of a quantity of 6.
3:08 And then the pricing and all these details here all populated based upon what the Master product have. So that's an overview of bill of materials Additional Units of Measure for Dear.
