From time to time an in store customer will ask that a gift/beer can be delivered or if they are from interstate if they can purchase some beers and have them delivered to their home.
This can be done BUT it must all be done through the website, i.e. it must not go through the store register for payment. Further to this the 10% off 10 or more singles discount does not apply to these types of orders. The 10% discount is for in store purchases that are taken away from the store by the customer. The reason for this is because for all orders that are dispatched/shipped Beer Cartel subsidises the freight, packaging and handling costs and therefore cannot offer a 10% discount.
To do allow for an in store customer to have beers shipped there are 3 options:
1. The customer can place the order on their smart phone
2. If it is a quite period in store (e.g. first thing in the morning) and you do not have other customers in store you can place the order via the website storefront on the store computer on behalf of the customer (i.e. www.beercartel.com.au)
3. If neither of the options above are possible then have the customer fill out an order form (attached below) including payment details and itemised list of the beers they are purchasing. Then once they have gone and there is a quiet period in store process the order via the website storefront (www.beercartel.com.au)
Placing the order through the website store front is needed for the following reasons:
- It collects all the customers details without needing to manually re-enter it ourselves
- It sends a confirmation email to the customer that they can check all the details are correct and have a record of the transaction
- It generates a packing slip for dispatch and invoice for the customer
- If there are any issues with the order, e.g. damaged in transit, notes can be made within the online order section
- It automatically calculates freight charges based on products being purchased and destination
- It keeps the dispatch process consistent with how all other "shipped" orders are handled
