Trivia page is located at  https://www.beercartel.com.au/trivia/

Accessible via Storefront > Webpages > Trivia. I find the best way to update the page it is to click HTML.

Duplicate the last line e.g. <p>-&nbsp;<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://beercartel.app.do/beer-cartel-craft-beer-trivia-84" target="_blank">Craft Beer Trivia #84</a></span></p> updating the number across the two points in bold above

Then in <p> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://beercartel.app.do/iframe/beer-cartel-craft-beer-trivia-86.js"></script> change it to the most recent number e.g. 86 

Updating Zapier Zap for Quizzes Steps (not used)

1. Log in to Zapier

2. Click Zaps

3. Find and click Trivia to Mailchimp

4. Click New Entry. Then Edit Options

5. Choose the Trivia date that you want. Click Continue 

6.  Click each entry and check the name if it's Volaris

7. Under Actions, click Edit Template and check if the subscriber email is sent to [email protected]

8. Click Finish. Turn it On.

Setting up a quiz in Survey Monkey

• 1. Log in to Survey Monkey

  2. Click Create Survey then select Start from scratch. Then input Survey Name and Choose “Quiz” as the survey category.

  3. Create Survey > Design Survey > Themes

  4. Under Themes, choose the Copy of Beer Cartel Themes and click Apply

  5. Under Options, make sure “Quiz”, “Survey Title” and “Progress Bar” are ON, while the rest are OFF.

  6. Call the title Beer Cartel's [NAME OF QUIZ] Quiz

  7. On the first page start with the following:  [QUIZ NAME] Quiz

     1. Are you the smartest beer lover around?

     2. Test yourself with these 10 questions.

  8. Next page start up with a textbox to collect their name: First up, what is your name so I know what to call you?

  9. Next page write: Okay, {{ Q1 }}, we hope your cranium is ready...

  10. Add questions in the survey page. Set them according to the type of questions asked and answers desired. One question per page.

  11. - For any images set them to 150 pixels. If you need flags these can be found at http://www.beercartel.com.au/beer/country/ Images should beplaced on the next line from the text

  12. - For block of images e.g. question with 4 image options choose for them to be shown over two rows

  13. - Click on the Next Button and change Done to Show Me The Answers

  14. - Ensure all questions are selected as quiz questions and have a score allocated

  15. - Ensure all questions are required tp be answered

  16. - For any writing not specifically relate to questions and answers set it to 14 pt and bold

  17. - Ensure that email is validated by selecting in options Validate Answer for a Specific Format and email address. When a invalid email is entered write: Sorry, that doesn't look like a valid email address.

  18. On the last page write:

  23. To collect social media responses, click Collect Responses > New Collector > Web Link Collector. Call the title and weblink a similar name to the quiz e.g. IPA Quiz & IPAQuiz

  24. Under the Web link collector, choose ON for Multiple Responses

  25. Under Survey End Page, select “On, show a custom end page upon survey completion” and input the beer cartel website link for the blog that relates to the quiz in the text box. If there is no blog go to https://www.beercartel.com.au.

  26. Under the web link, input the title of the quiz  (e.g. TheCraftBeerQuiz or The_Craft_Beer_Quiz). This is to set how the link appears to the respondents. (e.g. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/The_Craft_Beer_Quiz)

1. Click Save.

The next step is to create a Zap in Zapier.com so that those that take our quiz are added to our database.

1. Go to Zapier.com

2. Login using details in LastPass

3. The easiest process to do is to duplicate an existing quiz Zap

4. Rename the Zap to the new quiz name e.g. Create MailChimp subscribers from [QUIZ NAME] Quiz

5. The Trigger should be Survey Monkey > Triggers on New Survey Response > Survey should be the new survey created. Do not select individual collectors.

6. The Action should be to Add/update subscriber in Mailchimp with the following settings:

List: Beer Cartel List

Subscriber Email: Select question that asks for email address

Double Opt In: No

Send Welcome Email: No

Update Existing: Yes

Replace Groups: Yes

Group: General Newsletter

First Name: Question relating to name

Source: Enter the quiz name e.g. Craft Beer Quiz

All other fields should be blank

7. Click Continue

8. Click Finish

9. Turn on Zap and then test.
