Battery Maintenance
New batteries are expensive. A replacement one equivalent to an average size will be around $6,000. The quickest way to half a batteries lifespan is to run them dry through slack maintenance.
Battery maintenance
1. Make sure battery is plugged into forklift
2. Where possible utilise forklift until battery is 80% discharged
3. When battery is 80% discharged or at the end of a shift, allow a 30 minute cool down period.
4. After cool down period, plug battery into charger.
5. After full charge cycle, allow a 30 minute cool down period and plug battery back into forklift.
6. Check water levels once a week.
Please note
a) Battery usage will vary depending upon your application
b) Only ever top water levels up after a full charge cycle.
c) Topping up water is to 20mm above splash plate (this is what you actually see when looking inside a battery cell).
It is recommended that a specific morning that the batteries are topped up eg, every Monday morning and then regularly check that it is continuing to be done.

Water Filling Hose Parts
In July 2022 the male water connector was crushed when the battery tray was being returned to its normal position.
The part was able to be sourced directly via Ceil Power. They are expensive to replace, $70 just for the male connector.
