For Brewquets we use a grey backing and the white table to create the product shots.
To ensure consistency of images the following settings/setup should be used.
- ensure lense is clean with no smudges or finger prints.
- square image
- vivid filter on iphone
- ensure HDR is set to off
- the light should be set to all white (no warm light). Then turn on to full power and turn power back by about 1/8 a turn.
- the light should be set at the lowest height setting on the tripod (legs retracted) and then placed on the table itself. It should be placed to the left of the product being photographed about half way between the camera and the product itself. The light should be pointing towards the top left of the backing board and towards the product being photographed. See setup below.
- tap the middle of the screen to focus the camera and take the picture.
The table should turn out grey, not yellow. If the table has a yellowish tinge then try and redo the photo.
The Backing Board Colour in Photo
The grey / blue backing board should turn out bluey-grey in the photo, since the change of taking the photos in the meeting room to taking them in the tasting room this sometimes turns out to be a dull grey which does not look very lively / ideal for website pictures.
If it does not look bluey-grey open the picture in GIMP and select the backing board area of the photo using the Free Select tool in GIMP. Then got to the Color menu and select Colorize option and set to the following settings:
Hue 220
Saturation 7
Lightness 0
If it is very grey then settings of the following can be tried
Hue 225
Saturation 10
Lightness 0
The following can also be tried as small increments can make a reasonable change.
Hue 222
Saturation 8
Lightness 0
The Inside Whitle Board of the Black Die Cut Boxes - how to make whiter / remove some of the corrugation effect

Adjusting Brightness & Contrast
The images on the phone are taken with a Vivid filter but sometimes depending on lighting the final image needs to have the brightness and contrast adjusted. This can be done by Colors > Brightness - Contrast. Set these both to about 10 and see the results, adjust as necessary to brightness the image up a little.

Scale the original image to 2250 x 2250
Then import the inside sticker label as a new layer and scale this sticker layer to 1125 x 793 (or approximately this depending on the screen shot that was taken of the label image). Centre the image to the middle of the lid, give some perspective if required and then merge down the layers. Resize to 800 x 800, save as PNG and then compress.
