If a customer buys a gift certificate online and puts in the incorrect email address (e.g. missing a letter or the .au) they will not be able to receive the gift certificate (as it is sent via email). When this occurs a manual certificate needs to be created and sent to the customer.
To do so:
1. Login into website admin area
2. Go to Orders > Gift Certificates
3. Find the customers name and click "+" sign to verify email address by hovering over name. Also ensure status is "Active". If the voucher is not set to Active then investigate if it has Expired or has already been redeemed, i.e. Disabled
4. Once correct gift voucher is found copy and paste the voucher code e.g. NJJ-5J8-JJX-70S
5. Go to Drop Box > Beer Cartel > Gift Cards > Gift Card Types and open "Gift Card - Gift Certificate"
6. Enter new details on card including - Gift Card message, Amount, Purchase Date, Voucher Code (paste the one copied from the website admin are) and Order Number.
7. Save the file as a PDF in Beer Cartel > Gift Cards > Gift Cards Sent. Save as "Gift Card - Order Number - Customer Name.pdf"
8. Create and email with to send to the customer and attached PDF to the email.
If a customer is unable to open the gift certificate:
Hi [NAME],
This can be resolved by opening the attachment on another device (laptop / computer / mobile) or in another browser. We recommend the latest version of Chrome, but will also work with other browsers.
The issue is a result of browser settings, browser version or restrictions on the device you are currently using.
If customer still has difficulties create a gift certificate manually using the steps above.
