Health & Safety
For your own safety and that of other staff please report to management immediately anything hazardous you see within the workplace. Please be sensible during your work - do not attempt anything that you consider high risk. We strongly advise that you wear steel cap boots/shoes for your safety.
Recognising the hazards occurring in the industry, Beer Cartel will take every practicable step to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. To this end:
Management
- is responsible for the effective implementation of the company health and safety policy;
- must observe, implement and fulfil its responsibilities under the Acts and regulations which apply to the industry;
- must ensure that the agreed procedures for regular consultation between management and those with designated and elected health and safety responsibilities are followed;
- must make regular assessment of health and safety performance and resources in co-operation with those with designated and elected health and safety functions;
- must ensure that all specific policies operating within this company – fire and explosion, purchasing, dangerous goods, noise, training, first aid and systems of work – are periodically revised and consistent with company health and safety objectives;
- must provide information, training and supervision for all employees in the correct use of plant, equipment and substances used throughout the company; and
- must be informed of incidents and accidents occurring on the company premises or to company employees so that health and safety performance can accurately be gauged.
Employees
- have a duty to take the care of which they are capable for their own health and safety and of others affected by their action at work;
- should comply with the safety procedures and directions agreed between management and employees;
- must not wilfully interfere with or misuse items or facilities provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare of company employees; and
- must, in accordance with agreed company procedures for accident and incident reporting, report potential and actual hazards to their elected health and safety representatives.
Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is regarded as a serious and important issue. All employees have the right to be treated with respect and dignity that should be accorded to all individuals. Sexual harassment relates to one person’s unwelcome sexual advances, or engaging in unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature in relation to a second person.
