We have a closed Facebook Group: Beer Cartel Craft Beer Insiders
Purpose of the group
- Our aim is to educate, inspire & to help people on their craft beer journey. We don't want to inherently sell but rather position ourselves as experts that customers WANT to buy from.
What kind of content do we provide?
- With any post we want to add value to the group and showcase ourselves as experts. While it may not always be possible it is worth thinking of what can be done to any post so that it is a "value add".
Examples of great content we can share within the group:
- Posts about beers we've tried - looking to call out an interesting element / unique story behind the beer.
- Beer education - articles/videos etc that we (or others) have created that assist in helping customers understanding of the world of beer.
- Quizzes
- Imagery/stories around brewers, breweries, events etc - again trying to add value with a story/interesting information that help build knowledge
What we want those in the group to be doing:
- Asking questions & learning along the way
- Sharing their own knowledge and helping to inspire others
How are we going to achieve this?
Vibe of the group
- We want the group to be all about discovery, but also about having fun. We want to create a group that is learning, sharing and where participants have their own opinion as this will help people be active within the group and achieve the overall aims of the group.
We want to advocate quality over quantity and a healthy lifestyle within the group including exercise, eating right and looking after your mental health - all elements that fit within our brand positioning.
Knowing that some people will have strong opinions there are certain actions that won't be tolerated:
- Any dialogue that is hurtful to others or to individual minorities e.g. race, gender, religion, sexual preference/orientation, body size etc
Our standard protocol will be to warn the person once and if they reoffend then they will be barred/blocked. If the content is severely bad then they will be banned/blocked instantly.
- We recognise that each person is at a different stage of their beer journey and while one beer maybe gold for someone, it is rubbish for another - we embrace these different levels of their journey of beer discovery and try to educate rather than shame.
While we appreciate that people buy from multiple bottleshops we ask that the location is not mentioned unless it was Beer Cartel. An exception to this is if they are specifically asked where it was from they are allowed to mention the store. We do this because we put a lot of time and effort into running the group and hope that this can be reciprocated.
Staff approach
Each team member at Beer Cartel is unique in their personality and we hope that this can then flow into the group.
We want to encourage each person to be themselves but also be mindful of avoiding any 'in jokes' - please avoid any commentary that talks about "old mates" or criticises other bottle shops or the like. Remember at the end of the day you will be representing Beer Cartel within the group.
