During the warmer months of the year cockroaches can start appearing in the shop around the growler and sink area. They can also appear in the cooler months but not as prominently.
To minimise and ideally have no cockroaches the following should be done.
1. Ensure that no dirty dishes / used cups etc are left in the sink area
2. Regularly wipe down the sink and growler area with a damp cloth, including under the drying rack.
3. Place cockroach bait traps as per instructions below.
4. Regularly spray with insect/cockroach sprays as per instructions below.
Cockroach Baits
The ideal cockroach baits to get are the ones that infect the cockroach and as a result infects the nest, this assists in killing the breeding cycle.
Place 6 cockroach baits as follows:
2 x under growler fridge (about 40cm in from each side left and right)
2 x under sink counter (towards front and towards back)
1 x front left hand side of kitchen cabinet on the ground against the skirting board
1 x right hand side of kitchen cabinet on tiles against skirting board (in corner)
Replace baits every 3 months.
NOTE: do not place baits on counter or growler tops.
Sprays
There are two types of sprays we typically use.
1. Outdoor barrier control / surface spray with nozzle. Use this to get into harder to reach areas, e.g. left hand side of kitchen sink cabinet. Can also be used to create a barrier around the bottom of the kitchen cabinet.
2. Surface sprays low odour. Use this to spray around skirting boards, within kitchen cabinet, side of growler station etc. It has a low dour so good to use if spraying just before opening the shop.
NOTE: do not spray directly on growler or kitchen surfaces
