From time to time a parcel may take longer to reach its destination for one of the following reasons:
- customer was not home at time of delivery and parcel has been redirected to local post office for collection
- customer did not receive tracking notices and no calling card was left, with parcel at local post office for collection
- parcel has been damaged
- parcel is missing / incorrectly sorted by Australia Post
- parcel has been delivered to the wrong address
- parcel has been signed for by someone else other than the recipient (e.g. in large office building/businesses)
If a customer does call or email to find out where there parcel is you will need to search for it within the Australia Post online merchant panel. To do this follow the following steps:
1. Log into Australia Post (https://online.auspost.com.au/eParcel/common/auth/login.do)
2. Go to "Search" > "Search for Consignments"
3. Enter consignee name - this needs to be their full name from their order
4. Click "Find Now"
5. Look for correct parcel (sometimes there is more than one, e.g. monthly beer club subscribers or regular customers)
6. To look at the consignment details like address etc click on the hyperlinked Consignment Number
7. To look at the tracking details and status of the parcel tick the "Select" box on the far right for the consignment and then click "Track". Then click the Article Number to get tracking details for that parcel.
8. To look at how much a parcel cost to send tick the "Select" box on the far right of the consignment and then click "Charge". This will trigger a pop up box which will show you the cost (to Beer Cartel) for sending that parcel. This is never really mentioned to customers, its more of an FYI.
9. You can then copy and paste the Tracking Details and email to the customer to give them information about the parcel status and current location.
10. If the parcel is does not have tracking details beyond or it appears that the parcel has gone missing you can lodge an investigation with Australia Post. Note this will only be possible to do 5 business days after the expected delivery date (which will vary depending on location)
