Weekly Facebook New Stock Video

Overview:

As well as sending out a weekly newsletter we also look to create a weekly video with our top 5 new beer picks for the week. This video is then shared on social media (Facebook, Linked In and Twitter - No instagram as video is more than 15 seconds). The aim is to share this on a Tues-Thurs evening, and then the following day create a campaign on Facebook targeting our email list subscribers.

Why is this done?

Email newsletters are good, but are only opened by approximately 25% of people, leaving 75% of our potential audience unaware of new beers / products we have had arrive recently. Using a video on Facebook allows us to reach those that may have opened the email (reinforcing our offer) as well as reach people that did not open the email newsletter.

Creating The Video

Project settings:

Custom Frame 1:1 (set 1280 x 1280)

Set Resize to "Letter Box"

Changes:

- Select the back ground and change the "tint"

Grey: Hue = 7, Temperature = -4, Tint = 1

Green: Hue = 7, Temperature = -9, Tint = 33

Exporting:

When exporting select the following settings:

Select left tab "Save as Video"

Select MP4 with Mpeg-4 codec. This will ensure that the audio, and video in a 1:1 ratio is exported correctly. Other formats will not export the video in a 1:1 format.

Project settings: should be from initial settings, i.e. 1280x1280 1:1

Export Settings: should be same as project settings:

Quality: select highest

Folder: select newly created folder for this week

Posting Video:

Post 1: via Hootsuite >> Twitter and Instagram (Hootsuite does not support videos to Linked In and Google Plus.

Post 2: Facebook Direct >> (posting direct allows you to select the image thumbnail for the video as well as tag individual breweries in the post - which cannot be done with Hootsuite)
