When creating a survey - don't make a copy of the survey. Instead download a copy of the survey questions via pdf, clear the responses, and then edit the existing survey. This way it will keep all the custom collectors that have been previously created and save time doing this for the survey launch.
Consider YAMM polls to encourage people to reply back to survey promotion request.

Powerpoint
Use the attached Powerpoint theme. To open in Powerpoint go to Design and click on the dropdown arrow - click Browse for Themes.
Slide size should be set to A4 - to change go to Design and click on Slide Size > Custom > A4. How to here.
To export larger images from Powerpoint:
Change the dpi that image files export at (300DPI max) head here.
To keep the maximum picture quality, you can turn off compression for all pictures in a file. However, turning off compression can cause very large file sizes without an upper limit on the size of the file.
1. Click the File tab.
2. Under Help, click Options, and then click Advanced.
3. Next to Image Size and Quality, click the file that you want to turn off picture compression for.
4. Under Image Size and Quality, select the Do not compress images in file check box.
NOTE: This setting applies only to pictures in the current file or the file selected in the list next to Image Size and Quality.
To compress a picture or set other picture quality or resolution options, see Reduce the file size of a picture.
To create a PDF of the PowerPoint with hyperlinks you will need to Save As PDF.
Click Tools > compress pictures. Use document resolution.
Exporting Slides as Images
To create a PDF of the PowerPoint at best resolution choose print. Before doing this click File > Options > Advanced > Print and select High Quality. Note PDF will not have clickable images.
To export slides as images select save > PNG - then determine whether you wish to save all slides or just individual slides.
For most slides these can then be edited in Microsoft Paint where they can be cropped to only keep the chart and then resized to fit the blog (600px wide).
To edit full slides in GIMP without the header open in GIMP, select resize Image > Canvas Size and resize the height to 1800 and click resize. Then using selection tool (four arrows pointing outwars from a box) select the image and click the Align bottom of target. Then select Image > Scale Image and choose 600 px wide. This can then be exported as a PNG file.
Before uploading to the blog put all slides through https://tinypng.com/ to reduce the file size.

Editing a survey
Once you login click on design and from there you can edit the survey
Here is the help section for survey monkey: https://help.surveymonkey.com/categories/Design_Manage
For each question don't worry about entering in the Q part of the question e.g. Q1. Please indicate your age (SR) should be entered as Please indicate your age
(SR) = Single Response (MR) = Multi Response (OE) =Open Ended Question - these are all directions for how the questions should be asked and shouldn't be included in the questions either
Each question should be created on a new page.
For Multiple Response questions (those with MR on their end), choose Allow more than one answer to this question (use checkboxes).
For Other (Specify) select Add an "Other" Answer Option or Comment Field
Survey Monkey - Question Skip Logic
Question Skip Logic lets you skip respondents to a later page, or a specific question on a later page, based on their answer to a previous closed-ended question.
You can apply Question Skip Logic to the following closed-ended question types:
Matrix/Rating Scale (Single-row rating scale only)
You can apply Question Skip Logic to Multiple Choice questions with multiple answers allowed, but use caution. If a respondent chooses multiple answers, each with different logic paths, the survey can only skip them according to the logic path of the first answer choice in the list.
To add Question Skip Logic:
Click the Design Survey tab.
Click the question to which you want to add skip logic.
Click the Logic tab.
For each answer option, choose the page you want to send respondents to from the Then skip to... column. You don't have to apply logic to all answer choices. (Page options described below.)
Choose to send respondents to the top of the page or to a particular question on the page. If you're sending respondents to a particular question, the previous questions on that page will be hidden from them.
Click Save.
Test your logic! Preview the survey to test all possible logic paths before sending it out. Responses aren't recorded when previewing.
Skip Logic takes effect when a respondent clicks the Next button to advance through the survey.
Question Skip Logic overrides Page Skip Logic if both are applied on the same page. If you have Advanced Branching instead, see Using Advanced Branching with Question Skip Logic to learn how these rules work together.
It's important to only move respondents forward in a survey—if you send respondents backwards, it could create an endless loop and prevent them from completing the survey.
When Skip Logic is applied, we automatically renumber question and page numbers, if you have numbering turned on.
You should only apply logic to one question on a page since the survey can't skip respondents to two places—it will skip respondents according to the logic path of the first question on the page.
We suggest placing questions with Skip Logic applied at the end of a page. This helps you remember which questions have logic applied, and keeps the experience relevant for the respondent.
Create a Filter by Question and Answer to see your Skip Logic paths when analyzing results.
PAID FEATURE: Question & Answer Piping is only available on some paid plans—see if it’s on your plan.
Question & Answer Piping allows you to insert, or "pipe", answer text from a previous question into a question on a later page in the survey.
Question & Answer Piping is related to Advanced Piping, which is a more advanced version of the feature that lets you insert custom variables and custom data from Contacts into your survey in addition to answer text from a previous question.
For example, here's how you might set up a survey using Question & Answer Piping:
Page 1, Q1: Single Textbox
In what city do you currently live?
Page 2, Q2: Matrix/Rating Scale
How satisfied are you with the following aspects of {{ Q1 }}?
Public Transportation
Safety
Education
Housing Costs
If the respondent enters "New York" for Q1, "New York" would replace {{ Q1 }} in the follow-up question. For that specific respondent, Q2 would then read "How satisfied are you with the following aspects of New York?"
Adding piping requires that you add a sender question, and one or more receiver questions on a later page. A sender question is a question whose answer you want to insert into a later receiver question in the survey.
Piping is activated when the respondent clicks Next to go to the next page, so a receiver question can't be on the same page as the associated sender question.
Only apply piping after the design is complete. Piping will not dynamically update if you add questions in an order that changes the original question numbers.
Sender Question Types
You can pipe answer text from the following question types:
Multiple Choice (only one answer allowed)
Dropdown
Comment Box
Single Textbox
Receiver Question Types
You can pipe answer text into the following question types:
Multiple Choice
Dropdown
Net Promoter Score
Matrix/Rating Scale
Single Textbox
Multiple Textboxes
Ranking
Comment Box
Date/Time
Text
Text A/B Test
Image A/B Test
You can also pipe answer text into the following question types, with a few exceptions:
Matrix of Dropdown Menus: You can pipe text into row labels and column labels, but not answer choices (the text that appears in the dropdown menus).
You can also pipe answer text into "Other" answer option labels.
To pipe answer text into a following question:
In the Design Survey section, click the receiver question—the question you want to customize with piped text. This must be a question on a page that comes after the sender question.
Click the question text or answer choice field into which you want to pipe a previous answer, and leave your cursor in the position where you want to insert the piped text.
Click Insert text from.... If there are sender questions that you can pipe from, they will appear in a menu.
Choose the sender question you want to pipe from. This will insert the absolute question number within curly brackets. For example: {{ Q2 }}.
When respondents take the survey, the bracketed template will be replaced by the respondent's answer to the sender question.
Question and Answer Piping isn't supported when Page Randomization is applied to either the page that contains the sender question, or the page that contains the receiver question.
If you receive an error that prevents you from saving a question with piping, remove the Page Randomization on those pages, or remove the piping from the question.
Before you send out your survey, preview & test your survey design to see what your survey will look like to respondents.
If a respondent skips the sender question, the bracketed template won't show in the receiver questions—it's replaced by a blank space. You may want to make the sender question required to avoid incomplete sentences or blank spaces.

8. Under custom thank you, select On, show a custom message box, type "Thanks for completing our survey!"
9. Once it's done, click Back and check if all information has been saved.
Initial Data Cleaning.
Prior to conducting any analysis on the data a number of steps to clean the data (remove duplicates & incomplete surveys etc) are required.
To delete cases select cases and then on the far left right click and choose delete selected rows.
1. Remove all those that are from Outside Australia
2. Remove those that said they hadn't drunk craft beer in the last 4 weeks BUT had drunk Coopers
3. Remove duplicate emails & phone numbers To remove duplicates head here.
4. Remove all those that didn't complete the survey i.e. those that hadn't answered all questions up to competition entry section.
5. Check duplicates on IP Address to see that no breweries are gaming the survey.
6. After doing everything remove R-VAR/duplicate remover variable.
Save file as OVERALL FILE
7. Delete those that have not drunk beer in the last 4 weeks
8. Delete those that have not drunk craft beer in the last 4 weeks
Save file as CRAFT BEER DRINKER FILE
The data is ready to be analysed.
Identifying Individual Collectors in SPSS.
One challenge with collectors in SPSS is that they don't identify the actual collector nickname - only the ID which is along the lines of 96756811.
To identify Collectors in SPSS:
1. Download as an Excel file (XLS) that contains all responses and condensed view (may also work with CSV summary responses)
2. Within the zip file there is CollectorList
3. Open this file
5. In Q go to Collector List and select show n
4. In Q go to Values > Labels and update the Label names for all values where there are more than 1 complete.
To Create Collector Variables in Q
Once the above process has been done you will then want to create Collector filters in Q that allow you to look at a specific subset (collector) e.g. Brews News.
To do this:
1. In Q go to Variables and Questions
2. Scroll up to CollectorID
3. Right click and select Insert New Variable > Binary Complicated Filter
4. Select the categorical Collector Variable and select the specific Value you are after e.g. Brews News
5. Ensure the sample size reflects the sample for the collector identified in Identify Individual Collectors in SPSS (above)
6. Click OK
7. Repeat for all Collectors you wish to chart
8. Check sample size of each Collector when creating data tables/charts
Creating Tables for Custom Collector
After creating the Custom Collector above you will want to be able to run tables that look at the collector e.g. Brews News vs the Total Sample.
Once the collector variable is created it will have two values; Selected & Not Selected.
Selected represents the collector, while Not Selected is the rest of the sample.
1. Rename Selected to be the name of the collector e.g. Brews News
2. While holding the cntrl key drag Selected onto Not Selected - then rename this Total Sample.
Attitudinal Questions
For attitudinal questions that are in groups when you want to compare these between two segment e.g. Brews News vs Total then you will need to copy variables (exact copy). You can then create a net agree / disagree.
Set cells as Column % and Below Column N.
Updating Tables in Q
If you are creating tables for different breweries etc for which you want consistent names for each table e.g. Frequency of Purchase from Bottleshops (rather than Frequency of Purchase from Bottleshops Wayward Brewing etc) then you can create a q script an run this. An example of one used is attached.
Split Variable From Question in Q
If you have one big question e.g. list of all survey collectors you can then split individual collectors off e.g. so you can look at those collected by GABS list etc.
To split out the filters from the large question they're in, just select the specified variable, right-click and select Split Variable From Question. That will allow you to use them individually.
To put the labels for charts on multiple rows
If you're using the Create > Chart > Visualization library, then the labels are responsive to HTML tags, so you can use <br> in the label of the variable or table row that's being charted. Alternatively, if you select the chart and then go to Inputs > ROW MANIPULATIONS > Row labels, you can enter a list of labels there (the whole text for all labels), and include the <br> in that string wherever you wanted a line break. In your example, your label (or list of labels) would look like this:
Case of 16<br>E.g. $59.99 (3.75 a can/bottle)
These functions are not possible if you're using the Show Data as chart functions.
