IF RSA End of Day Automated Task needs to be re-setup see the steps at the bottom of this page
Sometimes the automated report emailing and printing that occurs at 4am in the morning does not occur for some reason. E.g. the computer has had an auto restart, power outage or issue with RSA.
If in the morning when opening there are no reports on the printer AND there are no emailed reports then the following must be done to manually run the End of Day Reports.
IMPORTANT: Ensure this is done very first thing as it takes approximately 40 minutes for all reports to run and during this time the computer and RSA need to be left alone as it shifts through different screens, prints/emails reports and sorts through various journal entries in RSA.
Steps to run reports manually:
1. Open/start RSA if it is not operating on the computer
2. Go to the Menu screen. This is not the menu screen when logged in, this is the secondary menu screen that opens when RSA is launched.
3. On this screen click the "End of Day" button
4. When prompted "Do you want to run end of day?" select yes
5. Allow approximately 25 - 30 minutes for End of Day to Run.
6. Once completed the screen will show all tasks that have been completed. Note down if there are any that were not successful. Close this screen bly clicking the "Exit" button.
7. Process complete, RSA can now be used to process online orders and make sales in store etc.
RSA End of Day Automated Task
If RSA End of Day automated task does not run it may need to be re-setup in Task Scheduler. Below is the process for doing this.
Setting up RSA End of Day Task
1. On the store computer, open Scheduled Tasks
2. Click task scheduler library.
3. Select the tasks you need to end, and then click End button found on the lower right of the menu
4. To create a task, Click Create Basic task found on the right side of the menu. A pop up Summary menu will appear for you to name and describe the task.
5. Under Trigger, choose “Daily”. Then indicate when you want to schedule the date and time you want the task to start. (Set up the schedule time at 4:00AM)
6. Click Action and choose “Start a Program” and click next. Then select a program/script you want to start. Browse from the program files and choose EndDay from one of the program files. (The script will look like this: “C:\Pogram Files (x86)\RSAPOS\EndDay.exe”)
7. Copy “C:\Pogram Files (x86)\RSAPOS\” from the script and paste this to the box in “Start in (optional)”. Click Next.
8. Under Finish, tick the box which says, “Open the Properties dialog for this task when I click Finish”. Then click Finish.
9. Another pop out menu will appear (rsaeod Properties). Tick “Run only when user is logged on”. Also tick the box which says, “Run with highest privileges”
10. Then choose "Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2" for the configuration.
11. Under the Conditions menu, make sure all check boxes are not ticked.
12. Under Settings menu, tick Allow task to be run on demand, Stop the task if it runs longer than 3 days and If the running task does not end when requested, force it to stop. Then click Ok.
13. In the main menu, you will see that the new task created is ready and will trigger at 4:00AM every day.
14. To test in task scheduler click Run (found on the right side under selected item) - if End of Day has already been run manually for the day click to close this as soon as the box opens that shows RSA End of Day will run fine.
