0:01 All right. This is a video on Product Families in Dear. So if we come over to Inventory, we can actually see that we've got products and we've got product families.
0:10 So for majority of the time we use Products. So we get in an Akasha beer and it's, it's that beer that's the product.
0:17 However, there's times where we might use product families. Product families is a product that might go under the same name, but might have slight variation.
0:26 So, so a really good example is, is clothes. So t-shirt. So the product family might be a brand of t-shirt, and then the product families are going to be the different sizes or different colors.
0:37 So the names all the same, the details are all the same, but the stock levels for each of those variants all slightly different.
0:43 So for us, the main one that we use that for is our wine. So if we were to go into Product Families, and we were to look for, let's look for Birthday Wine & Chocolate Hamper.
0:55 So fundamentally the product's called Birthday Wine & Chocolate Hamper. So if we were to open it up, it'll come up, it'll pre-populate a family SKU and it'll bring it all through.
1:05 You can see because it's come through Shopify, it's pulled through all the, all the details that's on the website as well.
1:12 But we can see here that we've got these variations, because we offer these in different wines. We have the three different reds and three different whites.
1:23 So each one of these is a product in its own right. So each one of these will have a different bill of materials.
1:33 So they'll have the box and the wine itself. But each of them have fundamentally their own bill of materials, but they are under the one family.
1:45 And that family is just, it's just a good way of categorizing it because they are, it is that one birthday name, but then they do have these variations.
1:52 So we don't really use that. But if you are getting confused as to what product families are, that is a brief overview of what they are.
