Zapier

Zapier is a fantastic resource for moving data from one data source to another.

The "Zaps" it can do are almost limitless. A few of the zaps we can use:

• Enter Typeform subscribers into Mailchimp

• Move subscribers from one Mailchimp list to another

• Enter Facebook leadad subscribers into Mailchimp

• Move Wufoo subscribers to Mailchimp

• Send an email when one is received

Moving subscribers from one Mailchimp list to another - (Moving subscribers from a sign-up list to the main Beer Cartel list).

A. First you will need to ensure there is someone in the list you are moving people from to test this.

1. To do this in Maiclhimp select the list of the people you are moving from

2. Click Add Contacts > Add Subscribers

3. Enter your details and a unique email address that is not already a subscriber to the main email list. If you use gmail you can create variations to your email address by adding full stops at different point in your email address e.g. [email protected]

4. Choose "This person has given me permission to email them"

5. Click subscribe

You now have data to test

Now log into Zapier (https://zapier.com), you will need App Authentication via Google Authenticator on Richards phone to log in.

1. In Zapier click on My Zaps and navigate to a folder containing a Mailchimp to Mailchimp zap

2. On the existing zap click the down arrow and select copy

3. In the newly created zap click the down arrow and select Edit

4. in the top left-hand corner change the name of the zap to reflect what the new zap is for e.g. Copy MailChimp from Voucher Offer Facebook List to BC List.

Trigger

5. Click on the down arrow for the Trigger (New Subscriber) > New Subscriber. Click Continue.

6. [email protected]'s MailChimp should be selected. Click Test and then Continue.

7. For Edit options choose the appropriate list that subscribers are being moved from and click continue.

8. Click test - this should bring up the details you entered in at A in Mailchip. Click continue.

9. Choose Mailchimp.

10. Select Add/Update Subscriber and select continue.

11. [email protected]'s MailChimp should be selected. Click Test and then Continue.

12. You will now get to the Set up MailChimp Subscriber page. The following options should be selected:

- List going to: Should be Beer Cartel List

- Email: click the dropdown and select Email

- Double opt-in: click dropdown and select no

- Send welcome email: click dropdown and select no

- Update Existing: click dropdown and select no

- Replace Groups: click dropdown and select no

- Group: Click the dropdown and select General Newsletter (or applicable newsletter if business/gifter)

- First name: if collected click the dropdown and select first name

- Source: click dropdown and select List Name OR create a simple identifier e.g Justuno

All other fields should be blank. Click continue.

13. You should then see an overview of what your zap will do. If you are happy with everything click Create & Continue.

14. If you have a unique email address then the zap should have worked correctly, you can then turn your Zap on.

Process complete.
